For those who may not know, Eli was hit by a car on Wednesday night while biking home from work.

He is currently in critical condition, but he is strong and continues to fight.

We will share updates here as often as we can so everyone can stay informed.

What Happened:

Hi everyone. This blog will be written by me, Lida, Eli’s sister, to share news and updates about his condition. To start, I want to explain what happened. On Wednesday, November 12th, Eli was hit by a car while riding his bike home from work. The accident happened at around 10:30 pm. The driver did stop, but Eli sustained extremely serious injuries throughout his body. He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital right away. At this time, we still do not know many deta

Today, I am so excited to share the absolute best news. After 30 days in the hospital, Eli was officially released and is back home! We are so incredibly proud of him for all of his hard work, and so grateful for everyone who has shown kindness, support, and generosity throughout this entire journey. Hi everyone! Checking in with a quick update. Eli continues to do absolutely phenomenal. He is making such fantastic progress on the PT floor and is feeling really motivated and excited. A couple of days ago they removed the stitches in his leg, which was a big relief for him. He said the stitches had started to bother him during PT, so he is feeling much more comfortable now. We have some exciting news to share today! I haven’t posted in a few days because things have been slower and more steady, which has been reassuring for all of us. Eli continues to make progress every day, and he is working incredibly hard to recover. On Friday he had his repeat video swallow test.
